What does this mean to you and me?

A certified organic farm is inspected every year and is required by the USDA to have

strict, identification and management systems in place. Certified organic cattle cannot receive hormones or antibiotics at any time in their life. Raising animals without chemicals, as nature intended, has always allowed us to produce beef that is healthy and clean.

The humane treatment of livestock is paramount on an organic farm. For example, re-

cords must show that animals have access to shelter in inclement weather. 

When you purchase from a local, organic farm, you know that

you are getting healthy, clean food, from a healthy clean source, produced by people

who believe in the ethical treatment of animals and environment.

We have been going through the yearly process of having the farm recertified for its organic status. The certification process is handled by Quality Certification Services located in Florida; and it involves a very detailed, extensive evaluation of our records, inspection of our fields, facilities, etc.  We are happy to report that we again meet the standards to be "Certified Organic" for our beef cattle, pasture and hay.  Our next step is to have USDA ORGANIC added to our label.  We will proudly have this certificate displayed in our market.
